A lustrous well-preserved gold ducat struck at Utrecht in 1729 and likely part of the treasure on the Vliegenthart ship that was wrecked and sunk in 1735 off the coast of Zeeland.  It was recovered from 1981 to 1991.  This coin is not certified by NGC as coming from that treasure but it is widely understood that all the 1729 Utrecht and Holland ducats extant were on that ship in one of three chests.  They were underwater almost 250 years.

NGC has graded only four in higher grades than MS-64.  This is a common date only because of this recovered shipwreck treasure.  This coin would actually be more rare if it was a mint state 1729 Utrecht ducat that had NOT been recovered from the Vliegenthart shipwreck.
