16.17 grams of good silver, struck probably to pay high-level mercenaries for the armies of Carthage on Sicily and other islands like Sardinia.  This coin's pedigree includes the Helbing sale in 1928 and then again in the Schulman sale in 1966.  This history is noted on the NGC holder.  They have graded the coin AU.
