It's in well-worn Very Good condition without any of the usual problems that often plague old Roman gold aureii.  No edge filing, clipping, brushing, scratches, dings, damage, scuffs, ex mount or ex jewelry, holes, smoothing, tooling, or improper cleaning.  Nero had a lot of gold left over from his predecessors and he struck a lot of aureii.  But that doesn't make this a common chunk of gold.  The legends are clear and almost entirely struck on the coin, the profile is still quite bold and offers the image of the John Belushi-esque emperor in his later fatter stage.
